On February 23rd 1997, Judith Bowers was walking past an old building with a peeling facade and thought "I wish someone would do something about this building." She was familiar with the legend that above a false ceiling resided an old music hall; in fact she included the story of Stan Laurel's debut and Freakshows in her Ghost Tours. Then, as she was looking up and wondering what actually survived of the old auditorium, someone tapped on the window. She looked around and saw her old friend, Helen Campbell, waving at her to come in and have a cuppa. And that's how it all began. 29 years later...

If you want to know more about the Britannia Panopticons history and how the campaign began, you can download Judith's book, "Glasgow's Lost Theatre: The Story of the Britannia Music Hall" from Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Glasgows-Lost-Theatre-Story-Britannia/dp/178027212X
