This year is a very special Glasgow Doors Open Festival as the theme is going out!

This year the Britannia Panopticon will be open from the Thursday until the Sunday of the Festival from 12pm until 5pm with last admissions at 4.30pm. It's your chance to see the building for free! And there are a few wee extras over the weekend which we hope you will enjoy including our exhibition of ephemera, a few ad hoc acts and a dressing up box ready for your selfies. The bar will be open for hot and cold drinks, snacks and all reasonably priced.

In addition the Panopticon's own Judith Bowers will be presenting two talks at the Festival Hub in the ARC at Glasgow University. The first talk on Friday 18th September at 5pm is The Historic Pub Talk when Judith will be providing a humorous insight into Glasgow's drinking culture, it's contribution to the evolution of the city and some of the characters that famously imbibed.

The second talk is on Saturday 19th September at 3pm and is based on her Theatre and Entertainment Walking Tour. Instead of treading the streets, you will be able to sit in comfort whilst being edified with some quirky, funny and downright ridiculous tales of early theatre and entertainment. Tickets are limited in number so book yours today at the following links:

No need to book to visit the music hall though. Just pop on up.
