What a fantastic night we had on Saturday 27th January. Our Burns Night Show was a sell-out and we can't thank our performers enough for a hilarious, edifying, and memorable show with Robin Cairns introducing the acts with a journey through the life of the bard included between each one. Rabbie's poems were celebrated in word and song, starting off with A Man's a Man for a' That, the beautiful Eugenia Garcia Constable who sang Ae Fond Kiss, Andrew Gibbons wowed the audience with a brilliant rendition of Tam 'o' Shanter, Ben Hall presented Hey Ca' Thro accompanied by our glorious chairman, Lawrence Dunn. Frank Boyd and Morag Fairly performed Ye Jacobites by Name, The McTweeds provided a comedy sketch in which they did not recite Tam 'o' Shanter, whilst Peter Crilly aided by his young assistant Charlie provided a recitation inspired by Ode to a Haggis called Ode to a Fart . The Thingmy Sisters departed from the theme of Burns altogether with a football, keepie uppy combined with the classic Scottish country dance, The Slosh (you had to be there), Gilmore McCleod played some beautiful Chopin on the piano and Judith Bowers also departed from the theme of the bard by celebrating local Glasgow poet, William Miller, with a recitation of Wee Willie Winkie - all five verses! And this year we were also spoilt with a marvellous magic act by The Great Aziz.

The audience were simply amazing and through ticket sales, raffle, whisky tasting and bar sales the evening raised the grand total of £2,176.95p which will help to keep the music hall open and the campaign going for another month.

A huge thank you to everyone who was involved including our wonderful volunteers and staff and especially Bex for pulling it all together.

And as the song goes:

For auld lang syne, my jo,

For auld lang syne,

We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,

For auld lang syne!
