The Britannia Panopticon Music Hall presents a spectacular showcase of classic cartoons from the golden age of Animation. There will be an amazing collection of lost treasures from all the best animators such as Walt Disney, Max Fleischer, and many more! There will be all your cartoon favourites from Mickey Mouse to Superman. Bring the kids and family because this screening is fun for all ages. Gladstone's Bag present a programme of comedy films from the silent era with music and sound effects, featuring the most famous silent clowns:- Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Fatty Arbuckle and Laurel & Hardy. Don't miss this opportunity to experience these films the way audiences first saw them in this venue which first featured the "cinematograph" in 1896. With live musical accompaniment and sound effects by the fabulous Gladstone’s Bag - what better way to watch them than in the very music hall where Stan Laurel’s career began.

The Funny Bones Academy 2019 has been set up by The Friends of Britannia Panopticon Music Hall Trust (SCIO) in association with the Glasgow International Comedy Festival and sponsors, Exchange Communications, to encourage kids to find their funny bones.

3 professors of the art of laughter, Bobbo Roberts, Stewart Fraserand Kavita Bhardwaj, will teach classes in Clowning & Slapstick, Sketch development & performance and stand-up.

These classes are available free to young people aged between 7 – 17 years old. Please leave a donation if you can afford to.

Parents – you will also have an opportunity to take part in these classes.


Parents/guardians are required to stay for the full class with their child.

Dress warmly as The Britannia Panopticon is a historic building with no heating.

Come and experience all your usual panto frolics with added naughtiness and meet poor Cinderella, her father Baron Von Hard, her evil ugly step sisters and loyal friend Buttons and find out if with the help of her Fairy Godmother she can discover why everyone says the prince has the best balls in the kingdom.


Contains strong language, flashing lights and a couple of bangs.
